Recap
8-iron: 140 carry, 105 mph, and the pull is mostly gone
13 eight-irons averaged 140 carry, 144 total, 105 mph, 20 degree launch, 42 degree landing. Offline was roughly balanced -- 8 left, 5 right -- and the left finishes were contained (L17 max, most inside L11). After the lesson, the 8-iron is no longer the one-way-left pattern it could be. The setup change is holding through the middle irons.
Best of the set was shot 11: 156 carry, 110 mph, 22 degree launch
Shot 11 was the longest and fastest 8-iron of the day -- 156 carry on 110 mph and a healthy 22 degree launch, finishing just L6. That's the distance ceiling when the strike is centered. Shots 4 and 6 (147 and 150 carry, 107-109 mph) confirm the 8-iron has 150+ in it on a flush strike.
Shot 9 was the thin one: 130 carry, 15 degree launch, 34 landing
Shot 9 carried 130 on 102 mph but launched just 15 degrees and landed at 34 -- the flattest of the set, with 8 yards of rollout. Classic thin strike. It's the low outlier dragging the carry range out to 33 yards; the other twelve shots ran a much tighter band. One thin per 13 is fine.
Curve leaned right but stayed contained (R2-R17)
Every 8-iron curved right, R2 to R17, but the offline finishes stayed mixed left and right -- meaning the curve was working against a start line that was slightly left, and the two roughly canceled. That's a healthier miss pattern than the old one-way pull. Keep an eye on the larger R14/R17 curves (shots 2, 12, 13); if they grow, the face is getting open late.
