R11 curve canceled with L11 offline means the ball started left of target, curved 11 yards right, and finished 11 yards left -- a classic recovered hook. The numbers say this is a green-light tee shot on most par 4s of the right length.

Shot 2 came in at 110 mph (15 mph below average) and 159 carry. The 21 degree launch is the highest of the day for any club below the 9-iron -- a high, weak strike, possibly off the crown. Every other 4-hybrid produced 125+ mph ball speed. Worth noting: even the mishit traveled 159 yards. The club has enough loft and length that a thin contact still produces a respectable distance.

Curve numbers: R11, R12, R14, R18, 0, R5 -- five right curves and one straight. Offline finishes: L11, R4, 0, R1, L19, L5. Three left, two right, one straight. The interesting pattern: when the curve is moderate (R5-R14), the offline is small (0 to L11). When the curve is large (R18 on shot 4), the offline shifts right (R1) because the path was further left to begin with. Shot 5 (0 curve, L19) is the pull pattern returning. Overall the 4-hybrid path was straighter than the irons today.

1. 179 carry is a real baseline -- repeat in calm air to subtract the headwind component and get a true number. 2. 130 mph ball speed at this length is the engine you want -- the upright setup is producing it. 3. Shot 5's pull (0 curve, L19 offline) is the alignment pattern showing up at the longest club. Less frequent than at the irons but still present. 4. This may be the most reliable distance club in the bag right now -- consider it as a primary tee club option on par 4s where you need 175-190 in the fairway.
